Birthing The First Larz
Regardless of how you play, whoever receives the first card that specifically targets “The Larz” is now “The Larz.”
That person must do whatever that first card says and participate in any other cards that say “The Larz” must do something.
Eventually a card will switch the role to a new player.

Card That Switches The Larz

* House Penalty Rule *
No card should ever be used to make anyone do something they do not want to do or that could lead to harm,
so choose a safe house rule for if someone does not want to do what’s suggested on a card.
And read our legal disclaimer before playing.
Alcohol consumption is not required to play. Be safe and play responsibly!

1st Way To Play: Gettin' Handsy
Gettin’ Handsy gives you a lot of control over how the game is played and what you get to see yourself and your friends do.
We recommend playing LarzCardz like this before the other two ways in order to see more of the cards and introduce people to the game.
If you’re a happy-go-lucky, devil-may-care, hipster-renegade who needs to live life on the edge just to feel something in life,
then play Risk-It-All (the 2nd way to play) first.
To play Gettin’ Handsy, place all cards facedown in a pile and form a circle around them.
Everyone draw five cards.
The spiciest player goes first.
On your turn, choose a card from your hand and give it to any other player.
Whoever you give the card to must do what it says.
Cards that only target The Larz must be given to The Larz.
After giving someone a card, draw a new one from the pile.
Play continues in a clockwise direction.
Play until everyone quits, until the “When The Larz Did Buttstuff” card is played or until someone hits a specific number of points when playing competitively (explained below).
Get a drink.
Get your best or worst friends.
Get ready for a weird time.
There are several ways to play, but overall it’s really easy:
When you get a card, read it aloud and do what it says.

Unless the card says *Do Not Read Aloud.*

No matter how you play, one person will become “The Larz.”
Many cards directly target The Larz and test that person’s perseverance and willpower.

The role of The Larz changes throughout the game as a result of different challenges and competitions.

Play until everyone gets too weirded out, until everyone seems like they’re having too much fun or until the “When The Larz Did Buttstuff” card is played.

2nd Way To Play: Risk-It-All
Risk-It-All does not give you any control over avoiding certain cards. It is purely up to the gods what will happen when playing this way. Risk-It-All is good for larger groups or for when you need to impress people at your house party with a weird thing.
To play Risk-It-All, place all cards facedown in a pile and form a circle around them.
Take turns drawing a single card from the top of the deck and doing whatever your card says.
The riskiest player goes first.
If someone draws a card that only targets The Larz,
The Larz must do that card and the player who drew the card’s turn is over.
Again, play until everyone quits, until the “When The Larz Did Buttstuff” card is played or until someone hits a specific number of points when playing competitively.
Get a drink.
Get your best or worst friends.

Play Competitively
If you want to add a competitive aspect to the game and see who can truly achieve eternal glory, this is the way to do it.
Each card has a difficulty rating in the bottom right corner. This can be used as a point system.

Upon completing a card, place that card into your own personal discard pile.
If a player does not complete a card, they cannot keep the card for points.
To determine the winner, play to either a winning number or tally each player’s points when the game ends.
If a card is a competition or requires more than one participant, whoever wins the competition or bears the brunt of the card claims the points from it.

Cards with a “0” difficulty rating are awarded to no one.
Get a drink.
Get your best or worst friends.
Get ready for a weird time.

3rd Way To Play: Team Versus
Team Versus is also good for larger groups or for when you need some team camaraderie.
It makes the most sense to play this way competitively.
To play Team Versus, form any number of teams (split the room, partners, etc.) and place all cards facedown in a pile.
The team that seems like they’re going to lose goes first.
Take turns drawing a single card as a team.
Anyone from your team can do the card to claim the card’s points for your team.
There will still only be one The Larz.
If a team draws a card that directly targets The Larz, The Larz must do that card and the team who drew the card’s turn is over.
This can be advantageous for getting extra points but at the cost of someone on your team having to be The Larz.
Again, play until everyone quits, until the “When The Larz Did Buttstuff” card is played or until a team hits a specific number of points when playing competitively.

The Final Step
If you got the whole way down here, maybe that means you’re interested enough to buy LarzCardz.
The button down here is slightly bigger than the one on the homepage for more satisfaction when clicked.
Don’t forget, by buying LarzCardz you’re helping to create the first ever live stream of wolves eating blueberries on a huge wolf sanctuary. We know how important this is to the world and we want to see this happen just as bad as you do.
If we get to #1, we’re going to buy a plot of land, plant 400 blueberry bushes on it, register it as a wolf sanctuary & create a hidden camera live stream so you can watch wolves eat blueberries in realtime.

No! The game can be played without drinking any kind of liquid whatsoever. Either ignore the “drink” directions on the cards or come up with a substitute for when a card says “drink.”
Alcohol consumption is not required to play.
Stay safe and read the full legal disclaimer before playing.
Yes! You can’t sell anything LarzCardz related, but you can make your own cards for personal use. We’re working on a Create Your Own expansion pack too.
We will soon. Check out what they’ll be – here.
